A WOMAN'S PRAYER...upon the beginning of a DIET!

I came across this recently and it seems very appropriate for me as I “try” (understand I said:  TRY) to begin on a diet tomorrow.  If only losing 15 lbs. were as easy as putting it on!!!!

Now I lay me down to sleep...

I pray the Lord my shape to keep.

Please, no wrinkles; please, no bags;

And, please, lift my butt before it sags!

(Sorry...couldn't resist!)

Please, no age spots; please, no gray;

And, as for my belly, please take it away.

Please keep me healthy; please keep me young;

And thank you, Dear Lord, for all that you’ve done!

Side bar:  I should have prayed this sooner!!!

I really don’t mind (too much) getting older...definitely better than the alternative...but it’s the wrinkles, gray hairs, chin hairs, menopause weight, and saggy hiney that I don’t care for!!!!  But I’m thankful...very thankful...for God allowing me to make it this far:)

*THE TRUTH IN 13 WORDS...

Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the heck happened.

  1. Good luck on your weight loss/healthy journey! I'm always amazed at how fast those extra pounds go on and how dang slow they come off! I'm on the same journey and it's very frustrating but I do want to be as healthy as possible as I age. It's good to have a little extra weight as we age for backup when illness or accident come about. So let's both get going and see how it all ends up!

  3. At the end of my physical a couple of weeks ago my doctor said I was 81 going on 40. I told her that the happiest age group tended to be people in their 70s. In their 80s health problems can reduce happiness, but so far the hasn't happened yet for me. She was happy to hear it. She said she keeps telling people not to worry about getting older, it just gets better and better. She was happy to hear the confirmation.

  4. Let's not call it a "Diet"! To me, the word "Diet," conjures up all the *sad deprivation* which is coming. :-((( It makes me think of all the no, no, no, no, no's. :-(((

    Let's view our Quest, as adapting a more wholesome life style!

    See...? _Adapting_ sounds like we choose it. And we do. Happily. Because we want a more healthy body. For over all Quality of Life.

    And do not dwell on what we think we _can't_ have.

    Think of all the delicious fruits we will be enjoying. And the multitude of salads. And etc. :-)))

    How about it???? Are you with me????

    And of course, let's back each other up, on our QUEST!!!!!!!!!

  5. Loving this post. Nice....gray hair, I have! Noticed my first gray strand in my late 20s. That started the dye but only with a comb. Yep, dipped the comb in and ran it over a place that showed silver. Somewhere a long the line I really started hitting the bottle, all over!! HAHA....in 08 when I decided to let it grow out even I was SURPRISED at the gray coverage! Wrinkles, a few fine ones around the eyes and mouth....very fine. My hot shape left me when I had my first kid. It was down hill from there. The belly got rounder and the butt and boobs started falling!! haha. Getting older is not pretty for sure. Good luck on the diet.
