It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like.......

How do I know?  I see this....

and this....

I know S*P*R*I*N*G is coming when I see my daffodils blooming!  I do so love daffodils...but sadly they last such a short time.

Last year at the end of the season I bought this from a sale table (looking rather scrawny) and stuck it in the ground...

thinking it probably would never come up.  It just needed a little time and love.

My little violas have held up fairly well during this cold winter, but soon the south GA heat will get them and then I’ll replace them with something else that can hopefully swelter in the heat and survive.
I do love spring...but it’s so short in our neck of the woods.  Soon the temperature will rise and the gnats will find their way back to us from wherever they go during the winter and we will wish for the coolness of winter...and life will go on and the cycle will repeat itself.  Isn't nature wonderful?

  1. Nature is indeed quite wonderful! And those flowers make me smile.

  2. WOW, I love seeing all of your beautiful flowers! We are really having nice weather in our part of the Country! Have a blessed evening, HUGS!

  3. Beautiful flowers - I too LOVE Daffodils!

  4. I'm trying to write this while wiping tears from my eyes...sob..we've had more snow and I won't see such beauties as your flowers until May! Nice, lovely pics..thanks for sharing them with us and helping me realize that it will indeed be warm again! Enjoy!

  5. These are beautiful sign of spring. We dont have spring here, just hot summer with monsoon every year. So, its nice to know how winter feels. Happy week ahead.

  6. Spring is beautiful, but I've realized that I have come to dread it because it's full of allergies and wheezing. I'm such a debbie downer!

  7. OH, I am so jealous right now Cheri!
I need to move south, just wish hubby liked hotter weather.
Oh, I want to see daffodils soo bad right now.
    Thanks for sharing these pretties!

  8. Thanks for sharing a glimpse of Spring with all us. I love daffodils. They were my Dad's favorite flower and seeing yours reminded me of him.

    Enjoy your day,

  9. Beautiful, Cheri! I am looking for signs of Spring here, too. Not much showing yet, but I'm hopeful.:-)

  10. I'm not sure what you are talking about. You are doing wonderful. Any wee little peek of spring is greatly appreciated for those of us up in snow country...Chicago... Off to have a look around and see what I'm missing here. Welcome aboard to my crazy life and hope to see you back.

  11. I'm so jealous!!! What few plants I had were absolutely killed by the frost. My yard is still nice and brown.

  12. This just did my heart good! My cousin called me the other day to tell me that she moved my plumerias from the garage to the yard. She knew it was time when they started sprouting new leaves in the garage, lol.

    Yea Spring!

  13. I love spring flowers...especially violas! I.m really looking forward to spring here! Thanks for stopping by and entering my giveaway!

Karen did not stop blogging. She just stopped hosting the blog society. Someone else is doing that.
I hope you come back and visit again soon!

  15. Good good luck on my giveaway. :))

  16. Hi Cheri, Oh my - Spring is in the air!! I love the way you captured it!
You were asking about the Forsythia Festival in Forsyth - this will be my first time going, but from all that I have read...it's a very good one. Just depending on the weather this time of year. I read they had 25,000 visitors and over 130 vendors last year. So - I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will have no rain or snow!

  17. Well deserved! I really enjoy your blog and am impressed by your finds. Keep it up!
    Sweet memories.

I just adored your beautiful spring pictures. It sure gives me the itch! We have a chance of snow this weekend....enough already!

God bless and have a fantastic Friday!

    Giveaway...my place!!!

  20. I haven't heard hide nor hair from you lately, so I came by to check up on you. Hope everything is well and that the darn gnats haven't moved in early.

I know full well how bad they get in your area. A few years back I was trying to photograph and record every grave in my small family cemetery in Douglas. My elderly cousins, who live on the property, know special stories behind each family member buried there and I wanted to get all that info down. After a few hours of being eaten alive I finally gave up and announced I would be back in the winter!

They are horrid in those parts for sure.

Hope to hear your sweet voice here soon my friend. Take care.

Please stop and "chat" with me...I love hearing what you have to say!
