It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like.......

S*P*R*I*N*G.....

How do I know?  I see this....

and this....

I know S*P*R*I*N*G is coming when I see my daffodils blooming!  I do so love daffodils...but sadly they last such a short time.

Last year at the end of the season I bought this from a sale table (looking rather scrawny) and stuck it in the ground...

thinking it probably would never come up.  It just needed a little time and love.

My little violas have held up fairly well during this cold winter, but soon the south GA heat will get them and then I’ll replace them with something else that can hopefully swelter in the heat and survive.
I do love spring...but it’s so short in our neck of the woods.  Soon the temperature will rise and the gnats will find their way back to us from wherever they go during the winter and we will wish for the coolness of winter...and life will go on and the cycle will repeat itself.  Isn't nature wonderful?

  6. Spring is beautiful, but I've realized that I have come to dread it because it's full of allergies and wheezing. I'm such a debbie downer!

  10. I'm not sure what you are talking about. You are doing wonderful. Any wee little peek of spring is greatly appreciated for those of us up in snow country...Chicago... Off to have a look around and see what I'm missing here. Welcome aboard to my crazy life and hope to see you back.

  12. This just did my heart good! My cousin called me the other day to tell me that she moved my plumerias from the garage to the yard. She knew it was time when they started sprouting new leaves in the garage, lol.

    Yea Spring!

  16. Hi Cheri, Oh my - Spring is in the air!! I love the way you captured it!
You were asking about the Forsythia Festival in Forsyth - this will be my first time going, but from all that I have read...it's a very good one. Just depending on the weather this time of year. I read they had 25,000 visitors and over 130 vendors last year. So - I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will have no rain or snow!

  19. I haven't heard hide nor hair from you lately, so I came by to check up on you. Hope everything is well and that the darn gnats haven't moved in early.

I know full well how bad they get in your area. A few years back I was trying to photograph and record every grave in my small family cemetery in Douglas. My elderly cousins, who live on the property, know special stories behind each family member buried there and I wanted to get all that info down. After a few hours of being eaten alive I finally gave up and announced I would be back in the winter!

They are horrid in those parts for sure.

Hope to hear your sweet voice here soon my friend. Take care.
