KETCH-UP TIME

It’s KETCH-UP TIME again!  Where does my time go?  Seems impossible that we are already into the second month of a new year.  Somebody needs to slow down the clock!!

So…what has been going on with me?

*Hubby and I had our 2nd COVID-19 vaccine a week ago, and boy oh boy!  The following 20 hours or so were not good ones for me!!!  Hubby did fine with no side effects whatsoever, but I had a bad enough reaction for the both of us.  About 6 hours after our shot, I began with a headache and 2 hours after that I was hurting from the top of my head to the tips of my toes.  Felt like a sledge hammer was hitting my head continuously.  Also, terrible chills and high fever.

I’ve read that 50% have a reaction to some degree and 50% don’t.  Leave it up to me to be in the 50% that do!!!  And from what I’ve heard from others who have had a reaction, mine was one of the worst.  Most don’t seem to have it that bad.  What can I say?  When I do something, I do it up right.  I am still thankful for the vaccine and would do it all over again.

We spent yesterday at our STATE COMPETITIVE CHEERLEADING meet.  We watched 32 teams perform.  Our PURPLE GIRLS were Region Champs but we didn’t win at state.  However, we were 9th in the Top Ten so we were pleased.  Our girls did great and we were so proud of our granddaughter who hit all her stunts.  And, yes, this is her wwwwaaaaaayyyyy up in the air.  My heart skips a beat every time she does this.  Guess I’m bragging, but our team was one of the few who did this stunt and she went higher in the air than anyone.

I’ve been doing something for the last 3 weeks I haven’t done basically since 2005…making lesson plans.  However, these aren’t for school but for the GIRLS IN ACTION (GAs) I’ll be teaching beginning the 24th.  Have to admit I really didn’t want to do this but they needed a teacher and after weeks and nobody stepping up to the plate, I felt the Lord telling me I needed to do it.  Hope the Lord is planning on helping me out with all this😊

Just wanted to say to any readers who are weathering what evidently is the worst winter storm across our country in decades, that I’m praying for you.  No snow for us, but the weather has been quite rainy and cold recently.  Hope everyone is warm and safe…and stocked up on toilet paper and other supplies.

Sending Love, Hugs, & Prayers!

  1. Yep....we are knocking at the end of Feb., this yr is going to fly as fast as last yr. Here we all were looking for 2020 to end and I wonder why....Nashville has gone through tornados, COVID, straight line winds, Christmas Day bombing and now freezing temps.....thinking things were going to get better but I am not so sure about that now. My daughter used to cheer for the local neighborhood football team. It was fun. Good for you going to teach. Sorry you got the worst end of the shot. I would be the same way...something bad or strange going to happen with my health, that will.

    1. Pam, wow! Y'all really have been run through the mill. I think it will be at least 2022 before any of us feel like things are turning around....but sure hope I'm wrong!

    1. Jenny, it was hard to make the decision about the vaccine but I respect everyone's own decision. I'm definitely praying for those who are so affected by the weather right now. It seems not only sad but senseless that some of what's happening is going on!

  3. I have been floored Cheri at how fast this month is flying by! I am so sorry to hear that you had such a bad reaction. That is frightening! Praise the Lord you are over it. My FIL had shot #2 and done really well. No side effects. Arm sore and that's it. Our church is setting up to be a host site for up to 100 patients this Friday for the vaccine. I think it's wonderful to see the churches get involved with the community. Girl...that competitive cheerleading is something else. Nail biter to say the least. Congratulations to your girl! Praying for all those suffering with the horrid weather. Happy Hump Day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  4. Thank you for telling us, about your vaccine reaction. I am trying to find, as many such, as I can.

We are in NYS, which is *Ruled* by *Emperor Cuomo,* so when we will even be offered ours, is an unknown.

Our Doctors Group, has had places set up, to do vaccinations, but so far, we have not heard, that they have it, to give.

And we have not fully made up our minds, about it.

If we could rely on having the full Frontline Critical Care Protocols, about which, I have been blogging, we would not get the vaccine. But as you know, if you have been reading my blog, it is hard to find a hospital, which will give this complete Protocol, if you get China/Covid.

Because our *delightful*-NOT government, does not want to allow this proven cure, to be administered. It's a long used drug, and no one will make any money, off of it.

    -sigh- -sigh- -sigh-

Your grand daughter is amazing. And I'd be very scared! -smile-

  6. I won't be getting the vaccine because I don't do well with medicine and I know I'll be one of the ones who get sick!
We've been getting snow or ice almost every day for the past month. Not too bad here though because we often get snow here anyway, just not as often as lately!!

  7. Oh maybe you won't be affected...sure hope not. It wasn't fun but I would do it again. I believe in getting the vaccine, but I respect everyone's decision. Stay warm:)

  8. Which vaccine? I've heard we're more apt to have a reaction to the second Moderna shot than the Pfizer. We're getting our second Moderna Saturday. I will no doubt write about it!

  10. Yep, snow galore for us but we're used to it here. We've been lucky the past few years were mild so I can't complain about snow now. Spring will come and all will be good! So glad you got your shot. My son who had a bad reaction to his second shot. 4 days of being sick but since he's a respiratory therapist I'm glad he got it! I'm still waiting for the call for our shot. Seems like it's never going to happen! Your Granddaughter's jump is super amazing! That is so high! Good luck with your teaching and I'm sure you'll be great. Have a good Friday and weekend!

    1. Thanks, Yaya! I can't imagine having a reaction for 4 days! My approx 30 hours was bad enough...but worth it (I hope) in the long run:)

  11. Wow, those cheerleader stunts make me crazy. Our daughter was a cheerleader one year and thankfully got her feel of it and traded in her cheering clothes for a tennis racket. We're coming out from under all the snow and ice and we are sooooo happy about that. It has been a grueling week for sure. Have a joy filled Lord's Day.
