I've seen several posts recently about quiche recipes so thought I would jump in and share mine. I actually got this from my friend Kathleen several years ago when we were giving a bridal brunch together. It is one of our favorite dishes now and I have often prepared it for Christmas morning.
This is what you'll need….just simple ingredients, nothing fancy:
And here is the recipe…
Ham Quiche
8 oz. cream cheese
5 eggs
½ cup milk
½ tsp. dry mustard
1 cup chopped ham*
5 green onions, chopped*
pie shell*
*I use packaged ham from the lunch meat section; it comes in tiny cubes & does wonderfully in this recipe
*I don't use this much onion as we are not much of an onion family!
*I use a deep dish pie shell so there won't be runover in the oven
Perforate the pie crust a few times with a fork. Spread the ham & onion in the shell and bake @350 for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile combine cream cheese, eggs, milk, & mustard & blend with electric mixer.
Add this to the pie shell.
Here it's all ready to go back in the oven. Yes, that's a pitiful looking old pan it's sitting on but I use it when I have concerns about a dish getting over stimulated in the oven and running over the sides of the dish.
Continue to bake @350 for 40-50 more minutes or until the quiche is set.
And here is the finished product…
We will eat it with these for a quick & simple yet yummy meal.
Have you heard that saying ...
Real men don't eat quiche ?
Well, I beg to differ….
This is about as real as it gets in the man department and he's definitely eating quiche. In fact, when I told him what we were having for supper he said, "And what are you going to eat?" Sorry, sweetie, but you do have to share!
OK…enough talking about it, now I'm off to enjoy the fruits of my quiche labor. Where's my fork?
YUM! I think I'll start the oven and get out some of the sausage I made and froze (just for times like this) and have some supper and leftovers for breakfast!♥♫
ReplyDeleteHa! Real men will eat anything as long as they don't have to cook it! When it looks and, I imagine, smells that good then my hubby would say the exact same line as yours did. In fact, that's one of my hubby's favorite sayings! Very cute! I love all those ingredients especially the really cute chicken that's on the counter in that pic!
ReplyDeleteOh yum!! I may try this recipe over the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteSome quiche recipes seem so intimidating.
I think I can do this one!

Cheri, I loved the way you put this post together. It sound wonderful and I am going to try it. I have never made one in my life, but it's about time, don't you think? No one wants to go their entire life and never have made a Quiche. And..this one sounded so easy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by. It's always wonderful to see you. I have four daughters, by the way. The youngest was in Santa Cruz, CA.
She was here for Christmas.
I am fine..not sick or anything.Just the usual old age stuff, I'm sure. :)

Mona
Hi Cheri,
ReplyDeleteOh my, that looks so good!
And I think it's so wonderful that you showed us step by step with pics!
Your hubby looks like he is enjoying himself too!
I would love to go bargain hunting with you! I don't really know how to shop well if it isn't for a bargain!
I guess growing up the oldest of 8 kids taught me that.
Geez, we should plan a blogger convention or get together in the middle of the country somewhere.
All of us could meet up, wouldn't that be fun!
Hugs friend,
Cindy
