Hubby's Grandmother died shortly after childbirth from an infection.
I'm glad things are better that way.
Hugs to you,
CindyCindy (Applestone Cottage)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03761029458170652533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120350701223005779.post-85146108892528820622011-03-13T06:56:59.332-07:002011-03-13T06:56:59.332-07:00What a sweet and heart warming post! ...This is so neat!! I love reading stuff like this!
We have some of Pop's grandmothers things in our attic that mom found the other day. An old swimsuit, some shoes and her doll. I plan on taking pictures of them and posting them. They're from the 1800s! So cool! I'm very interested in the story she wrote about J L White from Waycross. There's a street in Waycross named J L White Drive. Could it be the same guy?

My maternal grandmother passed away when my mother was 10 and it was only a few years ago that I received a portrait photo of her from a relative. My mother never knew it existed and she only had one tiny family picture taken in the Okefenokee from when she was a child.

btw, I love that the one young woman in that photo looks so much like you! That was such fun to learn. And those shells? Honey, I promised my cousin yesterday that I would come for Thanksgiving this year…I'm just saying, I'll be happy to take them off your hands, lol.Shellbellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14836629045327379085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120350701223005779.post-3382811648317882762011-03-11T14:08:12.420-08:002011-03-11T14:08:12.420-08:00Beautiful story, beautiful treasures..it's won...Beautiful story, beautiful treasures..it's wonderful that you eventually got to have them !Visits With Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06606696720339004295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120350701223005779.post-75541692817427023152011-03-11T13:55:44.177-08:002011-03-11T13:55:44.177-08:00You don't have to be in heaven to know your Au...You don't have to be in heaven to know your Aunt Katie..you are blessed with parts of her that were kept in that wonderful trunk. Her handwriting, her thoughts, her life in little snipets. This is one reason why I blog..to record my seemingly simple life, but when looked at over a year, it's me that comes through and putting it in book form every year will be something my kiddos will look back on. Even though you only have a tiny piece of her very short life, you have felt her spirit through all that was saved. Our families can be forever and I know they are closer than we think. I'm glad you have that wonderful treasure.yayahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12047536332780197024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-120350701223005779.post-33593630866844877012011-03-11T13:42:25.771-08:002011-03-11T13:42:25.771-08:00Oh dear Cheri, what a sweet and heart-warming look...Oh dear Cheri, what a sweet and heart-warming look back on that special day!
