Pain & Suffering...Not My Cup of Tea

My regular readers may have noticed that I haven’t been blogging much lately.  I wish the reason for my absence was because I’d been away on a luxury vacation, but unfortunately I have been in the hospital.  On Monday I had surgery after two weeks of pain, misery, and mental anguish over what it might be.  Actually I have been having difficulties since the week before Christmas.

Without going into all the gory details, I will just say that I have had a very badly infected lymph node.  My ENT called it an abscess.  There were many symptoms of the “Big C” which scared me more than I can find words to express.  Thankfully, that did not turn out to be the case and we are so very grateful to God for His blessings.

I am now on the mend, taking MANY meds and still in some pain.  I’m trying hard not to “whine” (at least not much) because I know how much more serious it could be.  We should be thankful every single day for good health, if we are fortunate enough to have it.  I know from now on I will praise God for each day I can live a healthy, normal life.

I’ve missed writing and reading my favorite blogs.  I hope to have something fun to write about soon.  In the meantime, please visit my daughter-in-law’s new blog:  www.theicingonpapercrafts.blogspot.com

May all of you have days filled with good health and happiness....and be appreciative of all your blessings.

  4. Dear Cheri,
I am so very SORRY, I did not know.
I would have been praying for you. I will pray for your continued healing.
I just give all praise and glory to Jesus, and thanks to Jesus that it was not that terrorist called cancer.
One thing I found out, that Karen our creator for the Sister in the Bloggerette Sorority, has given over reigns to our new hostess, Debi,
    http://lifeinmystudio.blogspot.com
When you get to her blog, there is a new blog button for us to replace our old button with...click on the new button on her blog and it will take you to the Bloggerette page...then there is a post that gives you instructions on finding out if your name was moved to the new list.
The next two days will be hard to post so I will check on you Sunday.
Rest well my friend and let your body heal.

I am happy to know that all is well and that you are recovering!
Being ill is not my cup of tea either.

  13. Cheri, you were missed. I'm so sorry for what you have been through. I know you must be relieved, yet in pain. You are most definitely allowed to WHINE. I whine all the time and I don't even feel bad. When I feel bad, I scream and cry, so whining is good. I am happy to see you back and will head over and visit your dau-in-law's new blog.

  21. First if aii, Praise GOd the big C had passed you by. Sometimes as we get older and these illnesses are a nearly real possility, but passes over us, I feel like the Israelites who swabbed blood on their door posts. Wish it was that simple.

Bit it sound like you are going to escape with painful cyst. Whine and get some room service; you deserve it.

I am reading Max Lucado's The Great House of God, a great piece of inspirational reading as is all his books. His two greatest in my humble opinion are NO WONDER THEY CALL HIM THE SAVIOR, and SIX HOURS ONE FRIDAY, if I got the titles rignt from memory this late at night,

  27. Oh my goodness! I am so thankful that you are on the mend and putting this ordeal behind you. They say you can't keep a good woman down and that goes double for a Southern woman!

I went over to see your DILs blog, she's off to a great start and with all those mom's out there, I just know she will be a huge success. I mean who doesn't love going all out for your child's birthday?

Well my dear, you take care of yourself. I'm hoping to get out to your neck of the woods in late Spring to do some research on my daddy's hometown for a family book I'm working on.

btw, I love your comment on my son's birthday, I'm going to start telling folk I had him when I was 12. Yep, that's my story ad I'm sticking to it!

    Hugs
