New Year's Resolutions...No Thank You!

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions.  Why should I when I am fairly certain I wouldn’t make it even one month with most of them.  The pressure is just too muchJ    I do hope for a better year though…..2010 has not been one of my best, especially health wise!  I want to make 2011 better though so instead of Resolutions I’m going to make PLANS.

I plan to….
*drink my tea and coffee from my china cups and juice in crystal glasses…
why just look at them sitting on the shelf?

*read some good books…I used to be an avid reader but haven’t taken the time lately
*wear my good pajamas and expensive perfumes whenever I take the notion…my grandmother died with a drawer full of brand new underwear she was saving for the hospital!

*go exploring…I like a little adventure now and then!

*”try” to get my mojo going and finish some scrapbooking projects I’ve been putting off for too long

*learn more about my camera and try some creative photography

*get back to work on our families’ genealogies…it’s been a favorite hobby for several years but I’ve been stuck at a brick wall for awhile

*spend more time with the Lord and less time doing things that don’t amount to much

*work on some home improvement projects that we’ve been putting on the back burner…they need to be done, so why keep waiting?

Well, that looks like enough to at least get me started!  I think I have my work cut out for meJ  Even if I get only some of these accomplished it should help 2011 be a good, if not great, year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all….hope it’s your best yet!

  4. Hey Cheri, Thanks for visiting and I'm happy you "found" me. I adore your post today. Your list made me happy just reading all the great things you are planning to keep busy with. What fun. Well even the projects will be fun! Thanks for your support and love in my grief. You do indeed understand and I feel your loss in my heart too. I think resolutions go "unresolved" because we try to make things happen on our own rather than view them as a prayer request. Just my thoughts. Peace, Mollye

  6. Sounds like some great resolutions...er, um, I mean...goals for the year! The follow through is never the problem for me. It's remembering what I said I would do that gets me every time!

Happy new year to you! BTW - did you get your prize?

  8. Beautiful plans, worthy of a woman of God. I, too, refuse to make resolutions. I choose one character trait I want to increase in my life. Last year was Contentment. This year will be discipline. I read books, dig through the Scriptures, and apply what I learn to my life. I'm thinking though, I may need to make some plans, too.

  9. I like the idea of plans instead of resolutions. I always say goals instead of resolutions, but I'm also a planner. I hope you have success on many of your plans. I'm an avid genealogist too. Let me know if I can help you any.

  15. Happy New Year, Cheri!!!

I LOVE the plan approach!! I'm not so great with resolutions, either! While our 2010 had it's share of valleys, we had some peaks, too. I hope you have more peaks than valleys this year...especially with your health! I also hope you are able to achieve many of those plans of yours...they are great ones!

  17. I love your plans for 2011! I need to get back to work on my family tree also, so I just may make it out that way this summer. By the way, where did you get that pic of my family? They are a bunch of monkeys at times, lol.

I'm wondering where you plan to do some exploring, there is so much to see.

My wish for you, sweet friend, is that all your plans come to fruition and that each day brings a smile to your face.

    Hugs
